Thank you for your post and the link to Neurolaunch. I found that website quite some time ago and I find their unbiased reviews/research to be helpful. Can you tell me if you experienced any worsening insomnia in the beginning few weeks of treatment as was mentioned in the article? Since it is not covered by insurance, what is the average monthly cost? (I know that might be affected by the dose but I want to get a general idea). Did your family doctor prescribe it or did you have to find someone more knowledgeable- ie a therapist? How long had you been experiencing insomnia before you found LDN?

@1oldsoul Sleep was never a problem for me until I got Covid in 2021. It was a mild case, but it triggered many health issues for me, including severe insomnia and fibromyalgia. The insomnia began suddenly, one night I didn't sleep at all. I tried Trazodone, which sometimes helped me fall asleep but I never slept through the night. I went to a sleep clinic and they couldn't find a reason but suggested sleep meds that I didn't want to take because they were considered "hypnotic" where you could sleepwalk and do things you didn't remember in the morning (like drive a car!) and they are only meant for short-term use. Then I tried melatonin, which I still take at 2mg a night. I also tried CBN/THC sleep gummies, Minny Grown brand called "Hibernate" and they helped me sleep through the night sometimes. But LDN was the solution for me, for my sleep issues and fibromyalgia pain.

I started LDN in early 2025 and slowly worked up to 4.5mg. I don't remember having worsening insomnia when starting LDN. My sleep improved slowly. First I was able to fall asleep but would still wake up in the middle of the night and struggle to get back to sleep. Slowly that improved and now my sleep is back to where it was before Covid and Fibro. But everyone responds differently, I suppose.

My cost is $115 for 90 day supply of the 4.5mg dose. There might be cheaper pharmacies out there, but I like the one I have. They mail my meds to me for an extra cost.

I got my prescription from a pain clinic. But then I learned my PCP also prescribes it and I'll go to her when I need a prescription for refills.
