Sjogren and PN

Posted by drmeb @drmeb, 2 days ago

Hello, I have had numbness and no pain that is gradually working up from my feet to ankles for the past 10 years. I also recently had blood tests for my hypermobility treatment that indicate I may have Sjogren’s disease, which is a cause of PN. Does anyone here have experience with shogren’s and the management of their PN?

Thank you.

Hello @drmeb, I don't have Sjoren's but do have neuropathy in my feet and legs with only numbness and some tingling. There are some discussions on Sjogren's that you might find helpful - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/.

While you wait for others who have some experience with both conditions, I found an article that you might find helpful on the Neuropathy Common's website - .

Hi
I have neuropathy and numbness on my whole face. I also have sjogrens. Part of numbness is from cyberknife treatment I had 3 years ago for trigeminal neuralgia. This is very debilitating . I have lost about 50 pounds since the beginning of this awful disease. It’s very hard to chew and eat anything hard or dry .
I also have myositis which makes me very weak. I wish i had some answers for you . I’ve been looking and researching since day one.
It’s very hard to keep going some days , but I do . Keep looking and keep going . I know it’s hard but every day is a blessing .

I too have Sjogren's disease and also have neuropathy. But what bothers me the most is my disturbance to my balance which comes from my autonomic nervous system. I take IVIG every three weeks for the neuropathy and it does seem to help. I also have small fiber neuropathy.

@vmd Interisting indeed. My neuropathy is kind of different in that there is no pain with it. Most of my ballance disturbence comes from my ruptured L5 vertebrea. Of course, I am taken LDN too.
