Had first RF ablation in 2022 and was successful for 3 years. Had repeat PFA in 2025 and lasted 6 months. Assume too early to have any data to compare success rates of RF versus PFA. Rhythm Association convention in Chicago April 2026 has various pulse field items on program. Hopefully this will be addressed.

@cghader It actually isn't too early. I read a report early last year that said, so far, with 1000+ PFA ablations done across the USA, the success rate compared to RF (success meaning one full year free of the treated arrhythmia) is not significantly better. The only advantage so far is that a TEE is not necessary, normally, and this is because phrenic nerve damage is almost an impossibility. But, PFA also requires more fluoroscopy exposure. Just read a MedScape article posted on afibbers.org forum that PFA also has a slightly higher risk of stroke or other embolic event: (...it is small...)
