STOCKING-GLOVE NEUROPATHY
If you have stocking-glove neuropathy, what symptoms did you initially have, and did the sensation happen mostly at night and wake you from sleep? Thanks.

@meadows, I had never the term "stocking glove neuropathy" but I have seen many different discussions and comments by members about the symptoms described for the condition - numbness, weakness, or sensory changes in the hands and feet - https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/stocking-glove-neuropathy.
I have numbness and tingling in my feet and legs but no burning or pain. Have you been diagnosed with stocking glove neuropathy? What are your symptoms?

2 ReactionsI am wondering if you are referring to the fact you always feel like you have very tight constriction on your feet, the way a tight girdle might feel. That is how I feel if I have shoes or socks on. My feel always feel best in sandels. I have never heard that term for it but it would be appropriate.
I think the correct term is length-dependent small fiber neuropathy. It starts in the feet and sometimes hands, and moves slowly inward/upward like a stocking or glove.

Yes correct but stocking glove neuropathy is an actual term. It was mentioned to me by a doctor but only once. It stuck in my head as it sounded odd: Strange how there are so many terms and symptoms for this disease. It refers to the pattern like you mentioned but also
“ This length-dependent condition affects the longest nerve axons first, often creating the sensation that a person is wearing long stockings and gloves when they are not. “
I think I basically said the same as you maybe 🤔
