When I have my prostatectomy, they left the catheter in for 14 days. It had no effect at all on my BM’s. Because I only took Acetaminophen starting the second day I really didn’t have any problems with going. There’s no reason the catheter should have any impact on your ability to have a BM.

I have to agree, every single instructional protocol that I ever read involves eating fiber rich food and having BM by day 3.

BUT, maybe if person suffers from serious chronic constipation liquid diet is recommended ? Never heard of it, though .
