Does anybody else experience this? Is this “normal”? Not sure if it’s the ET JAK2 or Hydroxyurea 1000mg daily…
I’ve been on the medication for about two weeks. Last Monday and again today, Sunday, I wake up and feel very fatigued, a slight headache, and just kind of bleh and achy all over. All the other days I feel great and normal and then all of a sudden one of these days comes.

Fatigue and headaches may be symptoms of ET. And having some good days, some less good days is part and parcel of ET too.

@sarahgault I use to take Hydroxyurea. I do know that one of the side effects is flu-like symptoms, and also fatigue. Also, it disrupted my sleep. My side effects would come in waves. I no longer take Hydroxyurea because it caused my ET symptoms to be worse. I am now on Besremi.

Hi, I have ET and Jak2 and take 1000mg HU Monday Wednesday and Friday and 500mg on the other days. I have been doing this for the last 2 weeks, previously taking 500mg HU daily for the past 3 years with low dose aspirin. The morning after taking 1000mg I find I wake up with a headache and fatigued as well. Hoping it will pass as my body adjusts to the new dose. Have been taking Hemp oil for the past 3 months which has stopped the aches and pains completely. Highly recommend Hemp oil but has to cleared with your doctor first. Read recently that some products contain herbs can interfere with HU and make it less effective so any additional drugs/remedies you plan to take need to be cleared by your doctor. Hope this helps.
