@martha30 Depending on the size and exact location they can either do surgery or now there is a laser instrument that they can use to remove it. Mine was a very slow growing tumor and I had absolutely nothing to indicate it was there. I fell and hit my head on a heavy wooden cabinet. I passed out for a few seconds. Because I hit across my left eye I was afraid I had broken something. I went to the ER and had x-rays done. I didn't break anything but it showed the large tumor. I was immediately referred to a neurosurgeon. He did an MRI and found that it was large with multiple outgrowths. He told me if I had waited even two weeks to come in I would have had a stroke from the pressure it was causing on the brain.
I hope everything goes well for you.

@cindyt63: I am glad to hear it was caught in a timely manner preventing you from having a stroke. Such an example of serendipity; the fact that the meningioma was only discovered because of your fall. (A lucky accident)

Yes, you were lucky. I had the stroke from an undiagnosed stage 2 meningioma. Emergency surgery saved my life (Thank God) but it was an extremely close call. Recovery was complicated by recovering from the hemorrhagic stroke which I had had.
