Pink salt to help with Neuropathy?

Posted by domiha @domiha, 19 hours ago

I came across some information regarding the use of pink salt (Himalayan Salt) to help with neuropathy, either by soaking the feet for 15 to 20 minutes each day or drinking a glass of warm water containing a pinch of pink salt each day. After reading some articles regarding pink salt capsule supplements, I found that other ingredients were contraindicated for me because of other meds I take. But I can, without any problem, soak my feet each day in a basin of warm water and pink salt. I'm just wondering if anyone here may have even tried this and if so, did you notice ANY difference. I'm VERY skeptical, obviously, but I thought I would put this before the group to as if anyone else has heard of this. Here is a link to the article: https://eatwellwell.com/pink-salt-trick-for-neuropathy/ Best wishes! Mike

I have three forms of salt here including pink himalaya but never tried soaking in it. I have used epsom salt in warm water-soothing after exercise or long day on your feet. My friend swears by soaking her feet in apple sider vinegar-she does not have neuropathy. I am now dealing with inflammation from shin biopsy and my neuropathy may be fueling some of that inflammation and making it harder for me to heal. If this works for you, go for it. It is certainly better for your body than popping pills. A positive mindset goes a long way!

Hi Mike - Well, you never know. It would not be the first time that by trying something you actually discover something that helps which was intended for a different use. Keep us posted and good luck. Ed
