The skin issues are rough. Mine were particularly bad at fingernail beds, toenail beds and of course, my face.
In addition to the ointments and creams the trial allowed, I soaked my nails in a combo of vinegar and water. Lots of mildly warm compresses on my face, then reapplication of cream.

I was also given a mild antibiotic that was allowed. I lost a toenail but now, a year later, it’s actually grown back normal!
