My experience with Kevzara. I took my first shot On Tuesday, March 24, then on Friday evening I wasn’t feeling that well and Saturday morning. I wound up in the ER. They admitted me to the hospital when I spent five days and it seemed my blood work went completely off the charts white blood cells count was off the chart on the bottom along with many others. Now I am not saying that it was the Kevzara, But the literature that comes with it tells you about your immune system being attacked and that seems to be what happened to mine. I got acute bronchitis some other type of bacterial infection in my lung and prior to that I was actually feeling pretty good except for my pain from my PMR, which is a constant. I was released from the hospital with oxygen and mainly at this point I’m only using it at night 1.5 L.

What a scary story. It is most likely that the Kenzara was the root cause of the reaction. I suspect they took you off of it and do not want you going back on Kenzara. That being the cause I want to encourage you to report the problem on the FDA reporting database. Here is a link to a recent post I made that provides the link to their reporting system.

The importance of reporting the incident is that over time if everyone reports their incidents they would learn so very much more about reactions. No you cannot be sure, but it is worth taking the time to report the incident. Without reports the FDA has no idea what is/might be happening.
