Waiting for hernia surgery post prostatectomy

I wasn't offered anything by my surgeon other than "It will only get worse. We need to fix them." I have been through so many surgeries in 14 years, what's the big deal? The one hernia is common with prostatectomy. I call it Sigourney, because it reminds me of the movie "Alien". The bad one is lower right quadrant. For all my surgeries I look at it as being better than the alternative. Hope you are doing well.

You're doing the right thing; not waiting very long.
If an intestine bulges through that hernia it can get strangulated and you'll have to hurry to the ER for quick, if not emergency, surgery.
Follow your plan and beware of intense pain.
