Hello gently, thank you for these comments. I'm 83, my doctors have me a little scared about my terrible DXA scores; my instincts are to rely on natural remedies + exercise; I have a cheap Drug plan and generic Forteo would cost $395/mo. I'm thinking of waiting til next year after I look for a better Drug plan. ,, do you have any thoughts?

@shmbrd, have you checked RX Advocates https://therxadvocates.com/prescriptions/forteo/
Your income may be too high and $80 a month is more than small change.
I easily see the temptation of waiting until January. The only thing that would make that a bad choice would be a meanwhile-fracture.
I'm not apprised of your dexa results or of other medical complications.
You might consider an abbreviated course of Evenity, provided you haven't the cardiac risks.
I can see an advantage in 6 or 9 months of Evenity followed by Forteo. Medicare would pay for Evenity, if it is given in the doctor's office.
I delayed taking Forteo and am fonder of natural remedies. Reading stories from people who waited a little too long has given me a deep fear of fracture.
If you do decide to wait the nine months, be very careful with all of your activities.
Post back especially if you have luck with RX Advocates.
