@cutshaw01 I had total knee replacement 4 weeks at Mayo in Eau Claire,Wi. Taking the prescribed pain pills( I take oyx 10 mg every 4 to 6 hours) allows me to push through the pain and do the necessary exercises to help the knee rebuild bone,muscle,tendon,cartilage and reduce scar tissue. ( just the way I see it in my mind).My Dr's team is wonderful and responsive. Already I'm walking without a cane or walker and my pain is manageable. Breakthrough pain happens but leaning into the pain the first 2 weeks has made this process easier than I thought. I have been bone on bone for multiple years with pain and instability. So glad I did this!

@samiam1949 thanks, that really helps!

@samiam1949 That’s a great story of managing post operative pain and pushing through at times to reach a better place. I often hear of people similar to us who waited to have a knee replacement only to regret not having it sooner. At least in my case, the doctor made all the difference between my two TKRs.
