@gingerw Hi Ginger! Your idea about us using my income is a good one, but my brother has already signed the lease. I have a social worker who has checked into low income housing and for that, we cannot be counted together. You won’t believe this but the wait is FOUR YEARS! I am trying to find a place for Kelly but all the fostering places I’ve come upon only take the dogs from shelters. I might have 1 friend that will do it. Thanks for caring Ginger! Your compassion shines through.

@karen00 have you considered looking into renting a room? This may be a good temporary solution, and could lead to a more permanent situation. I have done that in the past, and it was a godsend in otherwise dire straits. A good place to start is with your faith community, and people you know. They know what kind of person you are, and may have a room to rent, or know of someone. There is also usually a group like Homeshare available through senior services in your county, that can act as a go-between. Many times a homeowner would like some company, or to supplement their own financial situation, with a renter. It sounds harsh, but since your brother signed the lease, that responsibility is his. You cannot afford to jeopardise your own health. I hope your day is going better today.
