I've been on Fosamax for 3 weeks. My body aches, I have heart palpitations and my lower abdomen hurts.

@jaghiker I had Fosamax for about six months to a year and then no one followed up with a new option. I was given it originally because I slipped on solid ice and shattered my hand/ wrist/ arm area. It seems that I shouldn't have been taken off it without weaning and/or replacing it with another similar drug at the time. Fast forward to my 12 fractured vertebrae in my spine and breaking a couple of ribs just moving my arm a few inches at the beginning of my bone marrow biopsy last year. Smart to do your research on all options. After my bone marrow/ stem cell transplant failed to achieve remission, I was given Xgeva, then Prolia and then Evenity for 6 months. Instead of building bone, my Dexa scan showed I lost bone density. Had an aneurysm and a TIA, so they stopped my weekly infusions and also put me back on Prolia. With any of the stomach shot variety of drugs I just mentioned, you are at risk of developing Necrotic Jaw Disease if you have any dental care within certain time frames. I was such a high risk it was decided to have my perfectly healthy teeth removed to avoid the possible necessity to have my actual jaw removed. Be careful. I don't have an immune system because the heavy duty chemo wiped it and it never grew back, so I may not be the average patient, but having met someone who was having her jaw removed the following week, I can't emphasize the risk/relationship between Xgeva/Prolia/Evenity and maybe Fosamax (not certain) enough. Research every possible option to build those bones and stay healthy. Best wishes ❤️
