I learned this week that a good friend from the past, that her husband has Alzheimer's, with placement problems. Jeannie doesn't know that my spouse and I are going through the same experience. I was thinking what I would say to her, because everyone always says to me, "Oh, I'm so sorry, for her, and you." I want to say something different, something better. Can't find the words.

@elliottw Hi, I just thought maybe it would work to not focus on her and her husband. You could try something like, “ I know it’s so difficult doing everything, like looking for a good facility for H. Do you have anyone to help you? I found a great social worker (LCSW)”. Or maybe, “I know exactly what you mean! Why don't we get together for lunch and we could share what you have learned.” When she asks about the social worker, you could say that the local hospital has been a great help. Keep putting your story out there and she will catch on. When she does, maybe work together AND recommend Mayo Clinic Connect!
Best of luck to you!!
