Has anyone had extreme fatigue while on Prolia injections or after?

Posted by jimiwho @jimiwho, Jan 7 6:34pm

Within the first few days of the first injection of Prolia I began to have fatigue so strong I had to stop whatever I was doing and rest, a deep rest, sleep and wiuld wake up a half hr or more later. Sometimes I would need longer rest. Still have the periodic fatigue where I feel asleep seated or laid down. Some says there are more than one episode. I dont drive when so tired. Feels as if my last breath. Nothing seems to trigger it. Does anyone else have this? My life is totally unproductive then. Is this another autoimmune issue? What can I do? Suggestions? I dont feel restored after rest. Thanks.

I thought I had fatgue until I read your post! I was getting very tired ocassionally but really not sure if it's the Prolia as I don't sleep that well and wake up most nights but sometimes go straight back to sleep, other times awake for a couple of hours. It does seem to be worse since being on Prolia but I can't be totally sure. However, it is one of the side effect listed.

I also had severe fatigue as well as many other side effects which was not good. Since I only had one dose was to discotinue Prolia and increase calcium and vitamin D, exercise and do what I did before when side effects start to wear off. Will see Dr in 6 mos again.

Hello to fellow Prolia users out there. A month ago I had a Prolia injection. It has a long half life which. with regard to this drug, means after a month 50% of it is still in one's body. Friday evening before going to bed I started feeling tension/minor pressure in the center of my chest. I went to bed but had a hard time sleeping because it continued. Saturday morning I got up and ran some errands and the mostly present, though at times intermittent discomfort, continued. Last time I had this issue and went to a walk-in clinic I was told to go to the ER. (Instead I went to a friend's house (she is a nurse) who has a 12 lead "thingy" and had her do an EKG.) This time, as it was a Saturday and my doctor's office was closed, I went to the ER. (I won't complain about how long I had to wait-will just be grateful I have insurance that will cover the charges.) I had every test there is, including a treadmill test, only to be told, "It's not your heart." After returning home I googled if Prolia can cause chest pain. The answer is "yes." Just wondering if anyone else has had this apparent side effect.

@cfic Thank you. Yes, I am feeling okay now. A friend of mine came over yesterday for coffee. She had been out of town for a week. She had a Prolia shot 5 days after I did, (at Stanford) and was amazed when I relayed my story because she said, while out of town, the exact same thing happened to her, chest discomfort, tension, just not feeling right in the center of her chest.

I had extreme fatigue, worse nasal allergies, dry lips, worse anxiety occ lightheadedness. After i injection she said not to take next injection. Glad as I did not feel like me. She said to add more Vit D and Calcium. It has only been a week since I did not have second injection so still feel some side effects, I know they take a while to wear off. She said as I start to feel like myself go back to what I was doing and see her in 6 months
