Migraine with many visual and speech problems

I have had migraines for many years. About three weeks ago, I had my first migraine that disturbed my spatial vision, my speech, and inability to swallow.
They treated me for a stroke, but due to a negative MRI, decided that it wasn't a stroke, but a Hemiplegic Migraine. I was given no information, no treatment, no prevention. This was extremely scary for me! I am still looking for answers.

@smokey1210 This does sound very scary. You didn't mention dizziness but I have found VeDA to be an excellent resource. Vestibular Disorders Association

Hi. Your symptoms are very concerning. I'm glad you didnt have a stroke. You need to research neurologists in your area, many of the bigger offices have Headache/Migraine clinics within their clinic. You may have to travel, I live in rural area and have to drive over 1.5 hrs to see one. Its worth it. Ask your primary for the referral.
