Pain and tiredness
I have a spine that cannot be operated on. Too much damage. I have a SCS that helps a bit. Pain getting much worse, where I cannot walk at time. My question, Am getting tired everyday, want to fall asleep all the time. Family is not happy with me dosing off will watching tv. Ant ideas? Am 80 old male

My ankle joints are now painful and I'm sleepy a lot too. I think I'd be more awake if not in pain.

So sorry you have such pain. Have you consulted with a pain specialist? If sleeping helps you get relief from the pain, then the family members shouldn’t mind. I see no problem with a senior falling asleep watching tv. Why does that bother them?
Been with a pain for awhile. Have implants injections etc. Reaching a time when it doesn’t help.

1 ReactionNot sure why you cannot have surgery but it seems you’ve accepted it. At 80 and having lived with chronic back pain for a long time I’d expect you to be tired. If you’re on pain meds maybe it’s time for a dose or drug change? Any maybe your families expectations for you don’t meet your reality. I’d not want to do back surgery at 80. I had mine in 1988 and will not do that again. Maybe consider taking a family member with you for a doctor visit so they can share in your reality?
Thanks. There is nothing left of l2 thru l5 to hold any screws or rod. Will do a better job of explaining to spouce. Thank you again. Just needed to vent I guess.
