Has anyone had TMS treatment for depression and/or anxiety?
If so, what results did you experience? What side effects did you have?

I use an Alpha Stim and started recently with neurofeedback. I love my Alpha Stim, bought it for anxiety and insomnia.

I tried TMS two years ago and it did not work. I believe it might work for depression but not anxiety. I have ocd, anxiety and depression. I was very disappointed but not everyone has the same result. I think the only thing you can do is try it.

I am 3 sessions short of my 36 sessions. I have gotten no relief at all. Disappointed and frustrated. They want me to do 10 more sessions. I don’t think I want to continue. Feeling tired was my only side effect.

Are you on any other medication.? How does it work for your anxiety and insomnia. Do you use it every day. I tried TMS and it didn’t work. I’m curious about Alpha Stim.

@malebreastcancer47 also very interested in your experiences. I am wondering if you have headaches, migraines, or any type of pain condition that you may have noticed it helped.

Mayo oncology recommended getting a therapist since I was prone to quitting cancer treatment. I was fortunate to find a therapist that prescribes the Alpha Stim, and also uses it daily, with his wife and kids. Its not covered under my insurance so I paid out of pocket, $850.
I started using it once a week or as needed but last several months, use it daily, 1-2 per day.

My other med is for type 2 diabetes, weight loss and breast cancer treatment. I have never taken med for anxiety, or depression.
Along with Alpha Stim, I also drink chamomile tea (non tea bag) at night. During the day, drink green tea with caffeine vs coffee.

@ashleyharris728 No headaches, migraines or any type of pain. However, there are 2 versions of the Alpha Stim, the one I have only covers anxiety, insomnia and depression. There’s a more expensive version, $1200+ that is used for chronic pain. A colleague has this version, for his pain and his wife uses for anxiety.

TMS competitor is Neurofeedback, as they both require # of sessions.

Alpha Stim is a device, you can purchase. Here is a good explanation of how TMS and Alpha Stim can work together.

My Neurofeedback therapy so far (2 sessions) has revealed, my sub-conscious is a lot calmer and present vs other patients. Because I use the Alpha Stim daily and before each session.

They asked me to do more. I wouldn’t do anymore. It’s a bit misleading because they shouldn’t say it works for anxiety and OCD because I don’t think it does . They will gladly take your money.
