Thank you again for your reaction!! I wanted to give you an update on my testing. First the endocrinologist had done a biopsy of my thyroid to rule out cancer. I also had two large goiters. the percent of ca was only 5% at this time but the goiters size is 7cms on the left and 6.5 cm on the right. The doctor wanted to send me to a surgeon but I told them because of my Parkinson's my heart has been giving my problems with high heart rates and low blood pressure . So we will follow up in 6 months with an Ultrasound of the thyroid. The follow up of passing out a few weeks age my Primary and Cardiologists were wanting a series of tests. My primary ran a physical which was already scheduled and included a Lipoprotein a blood test. My parents both had high cholesterol so about 2 years ago even though I lost 50 lbs. with the help of a trainer and nutritionist my cholesterol began to continued to elevate I was put on Rosuvastatin 40 mg. and Ezetimibe 10 mg. I have been faithfully continued on a Mediterranean Diet and have been very active with Boxing, Tai Chi and walking due to my muscles with my Early onset Parkinson's. Well the bloodwork which my primary ordered show an extremely elevated cholesterol count. So a Lipo protein a blood test was given. The average count a patient should have is less than 70. Mine came back 395. The next test she ordered was a CT cardiac Calcium Score Before I give you the results I must inform all that will listen there are so many athletes who take very go care of their health but for a unknown reason they have a heart attack and die. They are now researching why and have found that genetics has a extremely high reason for their sudden heart attacks and dying. When I found this out I went to all my family: two son's and brother and sister also my cousins. I begged them to it checked. For about 2 years I have been taking the same medication. Well, the results of the Cardiac Score CT shows I now have Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk stratification. What that means is I have Severe burden of calcified coronary plaque in my Coronary arteries. if left untreated I could have a heart attack or stroke. I now am going through a complete workup to determine the damage this has caused. I look at my passing out as a blessing so my heart has the chance to be possibly healed. So far I have had an echo cardiogram and 11 days with a holter monitor and a nuclear stress test will be done in a week. I wanted to share this with all of you so if there is any chance that you have hereditary high cholesterol please don't wait ask your doctor to run the blood test they will not run one unless there is a known family history of high cholesterol. I have once again asked my family members to please go get it now!!!! The scoring numbers for the CT Calcium Score are considered high at the range of 100-200 and my reading is 440. The work up my cardiologist is doing is to determine if my coronary arteries are blocked or my valves have been damaged. I am learning that we can never give up our fight and we have to fight even harder to show life is worth every extra day we are given. Thank you for letting me share this if it only helps one I will be happy.
