@kjoed53 I agree, our daughter had a cardiac arrest and now is in a care facility with permanent brain damage. We are in our 80s and this has been devastating. When I first went to see my rheumy the first thing he asked me was whether I'd been experiencing any stressful events prior to the onset. So the experts must be thinking about this as well. He did admit also that thus far no one has figured out where the PMR comes from.

Keep in mind, it is a Well KNOWN FACT that the cause/ source of PMR is NOT really KNOWN. I’ve read it on this blog for 1.5 yrs now. So our arm chair quarter backing might be just as suspect. Many drs say the cause is a mystery.

In my humble opinion. Stress from our lives, our personal medical issues, etc. all can contribute to PMR. How many of us, have no other health or personal issues? When Covid hit, who wasn’t stressed out? Let’s not forget how frightening and stressful PMR is when we have it, and that’s after a usually long journey to diagnosis.

I was a 78 yo heathy active woman with healthy diet, no other issues , had a bad bike accident. It was terrifying, could barely move……stress of course over it, followed by the endless journey to diagnosis. 99% sure it was my cause.
