Carpel tunnel

Posted by spiney79 @spiney79, Mar 29 3:42pm

I had carpal tunnel surgery a year ago and my right hand 🫱 it’s completely numb. Please advise I’m a bit scared. It’s not painful or anything just numbness. This started earlier this morning and I don’t think it’s an emergency

@spiney79 This is just speculation on my part, as I have periodically numbness, but you may have slept with your hand, wrist, arm or neck in an odd position that temporarily pinched or irritated a nerve.
If you have no other symptoms, and it does not ease in a day or two, it might be time to call your doctor's office for advice.

I’d contact your physician or the team that did the surgery. Numbness may not be an emergency but it can be stressful and can make you drop things.

Yes, not likely an emergency, but sometimes it can become permanent if not treated.

And it could be a sign of an impending problem.

Hi , After a Surgery maybe you should call and inform your Doctor your Doctor would probably be better qualified to help. Hope things get better

@spiney79 If you are still seeking answers, it might be worth asking about thoracic outlet syndrome. I have TOS and it was missed at the time of my surgery. I had carpal tunnel surgery and still had tinging in my hands and my hands turning blue. This is a nerve and vessel compression that acts on the same nerves that affect carpal tunnel. I have done physical therapy for the TOS which has helped a lot.
