@gingerw I'm doing good (Thanks for asking)! I've continued to feel as good as I did before the donation.

I originally started testing for my sister, but she received a deceased donor kidney 2 weeks before my Mayo testing dates. I ended up matching with someone else 🙃 on the NKR a couple months later.

For me it was such an easy experience that I often wonder why more folks don't get tested for the registry.

@judithw That's awesome to hear! I never stop being amazed at how people get connected around transplants. My husband received a deceased donor kidney almost 10 years ago, after his two children expressed interest in testing for being a match, but failed to follow through.

There is a lot to go through to be tested to match for someone. And, really, you get to find out so much about yourself, as the transplant team evaluates you as a donor! Just because you may not be a good match for the person you were thinking of, there is someone who would benefit from your gift, and it becomes a "chain".
