We liked the patient education center in Gonda and if over at the hospital either their library or the chapel.
I like the spot on the upper floors of the Gonda Building, in front of the big windows.
Yes, the comfy chairs near the elevators on the upper Gonda/Mayo floors are great! You have windows with wonderful view plus plugs to charge phones, tablets, etc.
My favorite secret spot is what I call the "nap room" right next to the communications center in the Gonda building, subway level. Wonderful recliners and ideal lighting for rest time! #askthemayoconcierge
@clockrem12- There is a center for the spirit in the subway level of the Mayo Building in Rochester, MN that I love. Does #askthemayoconcierge have any information on that?
Great spot @jamienolson! It's available during regular working hours, Monday through Friday and is a quiet space designed for prayer, meditation and reflection. #askthemayoconcierge
Another favorite spot to check out, especially now that its not below zero and the sun is shining 🙂
The Chapel in St Mary's is a wonder to see, very quiet and relaxing.
Hello @dandl48! Great suggestion! The Chapel in St. Mary's IS a wonder to see. The feeling that washes over you in that special place is something to experience.
The Center for the Spirit is a quiet, reflective place I've used several times on each visit for the past seven years. There's a desk with lots of paper and pens to write your thoughts, prayers, express gratitude, anything you want to share. I've been told the notes are taken to the Sisters at St, Mary's. There is also two labyrinths in the Center, in the carpet in the middle of the room to walk and a wooden one on the wall to follow with your finger. They represent a journey to your center and back again out into the world which I find is an excellent way to quietly center my thoughts and relax my mind. I value that these spiritual experiences are available for everyone, regardless of individual beliefs, in the center of the Mayo Clinic!
