1 Reactionmarie1234, the endocrinologist I see says that it is fine to keep using the pen There seems to be two extra doses,
I've only counted the days a few times.
hi gently, thank you for responding
Hi, marie1234, I'm glad to hear about your success with teriparatide. I so like this drug.
I pull very hard on the black dial when it stops priming the final dose, it breaks the stop mechanism, and I can then draw the final dose.
It isn't that I'm trying to save money. It just that I can't bear to throw out this liquid gold.
I have been on it for 3 months but I am having such muscle pain in my legs is that normal on Forteo
@vmcgrantham I had that in the beginning as well. Taking Magnesium and drinking more water really helped and the muscle cramps subsided. It also helps to walk : )

2 ReactionsI will try the magnesium with the water as we walk. I can’t really walk. I had two broken legs. I’m going through physical therapy for that. I have a hard time walking more than 5 feet so I try though I step in line at my dresser and stuff but like walking outside by myself, that’s hard to do right now especially in the winter, but I’m trying but thank you for the magnesium thing because it hurts but I’m only on what two or three months

1 Reaction@vmcgrantham, muscle cramps are common with Forteo. Speculation is that the cramps are caused by hypercalcemia.
Broken13's suggestion is especially good coming from experience.
Usually this muscle side effect goes away as your body adjusts. But Forteo causes extended hypercalcemia in some. You might tell your prescribing doctor to be certain they are monitoring your calcium levels. And to be certain that your broken bones are healing correctly. Both legs. That would be so difficult. Bless your recovery.
