Anyone with MDS and Anemia receiving injections of growth hormone?
Is there anyone who has been diagnosed with MDS with anemia who is taking hormone injections to help the bone marrow produce healthy red blood cells? It lasts for a couple of weeks than my hemoglobin, white cells and red cells start dropping

@lindak123, are you referring erythropoietin (EPO), a synthetic forms like epoetin alfa, is used to treat anemia in cancer patients to stimulate bone marrow to produce red blood cells? Are you also taking filgrastim or pegfilgratim, prescription medications that boost white blood cell (neutrophil) production?

Hi. I'm am taking Aranesp Darbepoetin Alfa injections. Yes, they are supposed to stimulate my bone marrow to start producing healthy red blood cells. I am not on any other medication. I am very frustrated withy doctor. I have not spoken with him in several months.

2 ReactionsI have MDS with anemia but am not receiving the growth hormone. I read an article about people who took a growth hormone. They did not have a good outcome. It was an article that popped up on my messaging. I will try to find it
