@gunshy Oh my gosh! You poor thing!! This is exactly what happened to me! I wouldn’t wish this for anyone. It’s so awful. I was initially taking Xanax as needed, about one pill a week for about a year, but then I started getting really bad insomnia and terrible anxiety. Then my doctor put me on clonazapam and that really ramped the anxiety up. She recommended going to a psychiatrist who then tried about 10 different types of psychotropic drugs which all just added to the anxiety. I finally demanded to go off all the meds, and he tapered me down with a very tiny dose of clonazapam. It was a dissolve under your tongue tablet in a very small dose, but I can’t remember the mg. It was still very rough for me for about a month but I tried to take walks and meditate. I am also very sensitive to drugs, and there is also something called the paradoxical effect which means you react the opposite to these drugs. For me it was an awful ordeal. I was so grateful when it ended. I still have a little bit of anxiety but nothing like when I was on those meds. I hope you can get some relief❣️

Thank you for your reply. It is very hard to get providers to hear that the med is making things worse. Effexor takes 2 to 4 weeks to take effect. As he put me on 25 twice a day, a low dose,
I don't know whether it will do anything at all besides having the side effects which do not sound pleasant. On top of everything else I do not want to chance it. I am trying, CDB, just one drop which helps a little and I just got something for adrenal support at night, gaia for adrenal health. Do you remember the mg you were on and how you were tapered down? My heart goes out to you as I know how much suffering clon. can cause. So glad you are free of those meds. That is my goal and I am hoping for my dr's sport. He wanted me on the first found to reduce the dose by one half and said he would go slower if I insisted. He is still trying to find something that will help me reduce the pain, I am on increasing doses of gabapentin as well as lamictal. I thing enough is enough. Thanks again for sharing.
