Hydrogen water or tablets: any benefits for kidneys?
My eGfr ranges from 52 To 60. I have blood test every three months and these numbers have been over a two year period. My regiment is 8 glasses of water daily and about 1-2 miles walk M-F. My first glass of liquid to start the day is a 16 oz glass of half water, half diet cranberry juice, teaspoonful of pure honey, tablespoon full of apple cider vinegar, and small lemon squeeze. Other seven glasses of liquid is pure water. Does anyone drink or take hydrogen tablets or liquid and is there any benefit for kidneys

Since water is H2O don’t waste money on the pills - just be sure to drink enough water - maybe purified ie remove the. chlorine
The hydrogen bomb required a strong containment system to compress the gas! If the pill were hydrogen, the coating would be undigestible

1 ReactionI did internet searching on the subject of Hydrogen Water. I finally came upon an in depth article published by the National Institute of Health. Their in depth study is well worth reading. They make no reference to hydrogen bombs. Please do a google search for the article.

I'm new to this group and so glad that I found you. I'm an 83 year woman who like many, if not all, has had CKD following me for a long time. It recently became a bit of a horror. Gad, I've reached the last quarter of stage four, despite following Dr. K's instructions. But of course he was speaking correctly. CKD just works that way.
I can't see myself using dialysis. It's just not me. I have 2 wonderful children (in their 60's), but I just don't want to risk hurt them at their ages.
Heavens, there must be something that could help shatter CKD. I mused about it for a few days, when I was about to blow up.
Surprising myself, I yelled out "God, I need help!!" The next day it came to my mind - NIH. I learned about H2 rich water, the water bottle, the tablets and the way to take it and in addition, how often a day. NIH, so much information and I'm still learning.
My husband and I were in my doctor's office yesterday. I had been using H2 water for nearly 4 months. We were sitting in our chairs as if we had nothing to hide.
Dr. K was looking at his computer as if his eyes were glued to the screen. He then started writing on my copy
of my blood draw of just 3 days before my visit. He stood up, walking to my & my husband's chair, handed the paperwork to me and said "Your creatinine haven't been as good as it was nearly 4 years ago. Almost immediately, my husband and I nearly jumped out of our chairs.
My plan now is to continue using H2 water properly until my next visit in order confirm what my blood report had said just days ago.
My apology for this long story.

5 ReactionsThe American Chemical Society writes that a quart of water can only hold 0.00006 oz of hydrogen before it bubbles out of the glass. As a comparison, a quart of tap water has about 0.002 oz of calcium or about 33 times as much. (I am dairy intolerant and take 1300 mg of calcium daily which is about 0.05 oz. I would have to drink almost 30 quarts of water to get my daily calcium.) As a chemist I am a bit incredulous that that tiny amount of hydrogen has an effect on the body. But who knows. We all get trace amounts of other essential nutrients in our food.
