I started having trouble breathing mt throat would sell up have a lot of phlegm sore throat even the back of my legs hurt. I went to a breathing dr they sent me to a ent dr ent dr said I had bad acid reflux and throat was swelled up. I got to thinking about the infusion infusion I had and read on it I have all the symptoms they r talking about so I called Dr that done infusion they ignored me and said it was not from that. I don’t know how much more I can take can anyone give me any advice. Thank you Kathy

The medical profession, though, they are supposed to help people, can often seem cruel. They don't seem to have the time to listen to people and try to understand what they are going through. Your symptoms are real and troubling to you and mean something. I was in health care (retired NP) and I have not been impressed with most of the providers I see for various issues. I cannot tell you what is causing your symptoms but I would suggest going to a different osteoporosis provider to see if you can find one who will listen and help you understand what is going on and the best course forward. Best of luck to you.

Reclast is infused into our bodies and bypasses the gastrointestinal system - one reason Reclast is helpful to folks who have had adverse GI reactions to oral OP meds. I asked my doc if I could go the oral medication route and he replied, "Reclast causes fewer issues with the digestive tract than oral meds". I've had more than the "recommended" number of infusions of Reclast and I've also had problems off and on with GERD and don't think they're related. I think my GI issues started with using acetaminophen and ibuprofen for an adverse reaction (pain) to Tymlos. I was prescribed omeprazole for the GERD.

I also started eating smaller meals and lost about 35 pounds and haven't had any GERD symptoms for a long time now.

Please talk to another doc (PCP perhaps) about your issues. Left unchecked, GERD can cause issues down the road.

I wish you the best! Cheers!

I was told Omeprazole can weaken the bones. My husband had GERD and has been taking Omeprazole for years. I am very worried about his bones.
