Hello,
I've missed seeing your posts as well as others. I always learned a lot from your detailed and knowledgable comments. When did you get the shingles shot?
The reason I push back on many medications, especially injections of any kind is my fear of a flair of Grovers. I had the old Zostervax shot decades ago with no problem but seeing the several references to new version's preservative causing this problem with GD will not take it.

@alju
Thank you for your support. Because I've been eczema free and my female issues have been resolved I don't check in with Mayo very often.
I got the updated Shingles shot about the 3rd week of Dec 2019. I was free of any active GD, ACD or Perioral Eczema. Within a few days a unique rash started appearing on my waistline area.
Like you I got the Zostervax shot a decade earlier, around the year 2005 and had no reaction. At that time I never had GD, that came years later. I did have Allergic Contact Dermatitis, ACD, but had never been tested for it. Derms just told me I had eczema and prescribed steroids. A decade later I accidently learned about the 5 Day Extended Patch Test which like you I learned I was allergic to several preservatives among over a dozen other contacts. I removed all my allergic contacts from my life and that solved my ACD issues.
I was told this new shingles vaccine could not give you shingles because the shingles in this injection are dead.
I am certain I asked about other ingredients in the injection because since 2015 I was patch tested and learned I was allergic to the preservatives MI/MCI, Methyldibromo glutaronitrile and phenoxyethanol. I was told the vaccine was free of these preservatives. If it does contain preservatives do you know the name?
This vaccine clearly set off some sort unique eczema reaction which looked different from a GD, ACD or Perioral Eczema rash. It looked like a Shingles rash, multiple plaque like rashes.
Definitely have a discussion with your dermatologist.
