It is so important to get a Movement Disorder Neurologist to see her and confirm the diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Very rapid progression may indicate Multiple System Atrophy instead of PD and in that case Levo-Dopa does not help much. Look for help outside your immediate area and good luck.

There are a number of so-called Parkinson’s Plus diseases that progress more quickly than the more common Parkinson’s disease and which do not respond to the Parkinson’s meds. Particularly in the early stages, these diseases are not easily diagnosed. If possible, it would be best to consult a specialist for the diagnosis. I have a family member with one of these diseases who traveled for the initial diagnosis but who now uses video visits for the follow-ups.
