Hyperbaric treatment to help with recovery
I had my last proton theraphy in December of 2023. I have been doing o.k. No side effects, except ED. I urinated blood clots on March 5,2025 and yesterday I had a Cystoscopy to rule out problems. The only issue was that my urologist found that my prostate was very irritated and that was the caused of the blood clots in my urine. He said that I should have Hyperbaric treatment to help with the recovery.
I would like to know if any body had this treatment before.
Thank you,
George

I had 6 weeks of HBOT therapy for radiation proctitis. It definitely helped me recover. There are foods that I can no longer eat because they trigger symptoms (pain and bleeding) but my symptoms are more manageable since having HBOT. I had my HBOT at a local hospital. The chamber held up to six patients and a medical technician. The effects of the HBOT were slow and gradual. About half of the HBOT patients with me were there for side effects from radiation treatment, the other half were mostly there for diabetic complications / amputations, etc. We watched a different movie each day while in the HBOT. Because of HBOT procedures I often missed the beginning or the end (sometimes both) of the movie. I have read about accidents with HBOT that have caused death. All of the accidents I have read about were in for-profit centers with single patient chambers.
