Quitting Prolia after 5 years due to losing about half my hair. Hair loss seemed to get progressively worse after each injection. Will take Fosomax to hopefully offset any rebound.
@lgreg, yes I experienced significant hair loss with Alendronate 35, and interestingly, not as much hair loss with Alendronate 70. I had to go on drug holiday from Alendronate 70 because I had been taking it for 5 years. I tried Tymlos, but I had very bad side effects, so I asked my doctor if I could go back to Alendronate. With hesitation (he wanted me to go on Evenity or Prolia, but I don't want to, because of possible side effects), he prescribed Alendronate 35. He did caution me about possible effect on my jaw bone from prolonged use of Alendronate. After a month, I decided, because of the significant hair loss and the possible effect on my jaw bone, to stop Alendronate 35 also. I am currently on AlgaeCal Plus and AlgaeCal Strontium, protein pills, exercise, and improved diet. I am also on physical therapy for osteoporosis to learn how to do strength and weight training safely. We'll see. PS: I have severe osteoporosis, but thankfully have never experienced any fractures.

@yds thank you so much for response. I take so many meds I’m never sure which one is causing a particular side effect. I can almost watch my hair fall out. I’ve had some hair loss from several meds but this is by far the worst with Alendronate!
Mine was really bad with Alendronate 35, even worse than with Tymlos (which also caused hair loss although it is not listed as a side effect). I am not on any other medications, so I know that Tymlos, and then, Alendronate when I stopped Tymlos, caused the hair loss.

I quit after the 3d injection. Massive hair loss!
I am now taking "Auro-Risedronate".
My hair almost completely grown back - 2 years later!

Fourth Prolia. Third one some loss. Hair loss started about 14 days after injection. To date 80% hair loss all over scalp. Husband says I look awful
