hope this works as well..would be quite a game changer - reducing standard ADT doseage by half and stopping nasty side effects with same long term results !?

Aren’t you also on ADT? That lowers your testosterone and causes most of the hot flash problems.

Yes, Nubeqa can aggravate the problem, but that usually goes away after a short time.

I had severe hot flashes while on ADT. Nubeqa Has not been a problem at all. After eight years on ADT, my hot flashes are what you would call warm flashes and don’t occur very often.

I know dozens of people on Nubeqa And no one reports hot flashes as a problem.

What worked best for me at night was an Embrlabs.com wave 2 device. You can set it to run all night. I used to have the sheet wet under me when I was sleeping because of hot flashes it stopped them.

A Mayo doctor at last month’s monthly meeting posted this information about drugs you can use to stop hot flashes.

@jeffmarc Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am on ADT. I've been on Nubeqa since November, 25. The hot flashes remain a major issue. I asked my doc about meds to reduce or stop the hot flashes but he cautuioned me they can come with their own side effects. I think everyone just responds differently to these cancer meds. I'll check out the wave device. Thanks again.

In my experience, cutting back on the drugs can be a major mistake for some people.

I was on abiraterone For about a year and a half when I got my oncologist to agree to let me take 750 mg instead of 1000 mg a day. I wanted to see if it would reduce the amount of brain fog I was having. I was getting PSA tests every month, so in the middle of the month, after my last PSA test, I Cut down to 750 mg. That’s not half the drugs that’s 3/4 of the normal medication.

In 19 days, my PSA went from .2 to 1. The only benefit about that was I could get a PSMA PET scan since my PSA was now above .7. I got the scan and immediately Went back on 1000 mg a day. My PSA dropped down to .2 again. I was on Lupron at the time but had become castrate resistant, so Lupron was not keeping my PSA down to undetectable. I also have BRCA2 so that could be a factor.

I wonder what the results will be of this clinical trial. I suspect it won’t work for 100% of the people.

I took depo Provera For four years, a shot every three months. No side effects at all.

Not sure I sent you the list that Mayo recommends. There’s a bunch of different drugs.

Oxybutynin May have some problems with Nubeqa. Ask the doctor.
