Kidney pain?

Posted by ehdog @ehdog, Mar 10 8:28pm

I don't know if it's my kidney but I have scoliosis and I've been extremely stressed recently.
A lot of my pain is under my ribs where my kidney would be
It's only on one side

My urethra also hurts. It doesn't burn but it feels irritated.
I've been dealing with back pain for a bit with only brief moments of relief. Any thoughts?

It sounds like stress is irritating your urinary system, not an infection. When you’re really tense, your pelvic floor and bladder muscles can tighten up, which can lead to that sore or irritated feeling in your urethra.

This doesn’t match what a kidney infection looks like. It sounds more like your body reacting to a lot of stress.

You could try using heat, doing some gentle stretching, drinking some water, and taking a moment to relax before you try to pee.

it still doesn’t sound like a disease. At most it sounds like irritation, which settles down on its own with a little care and rest.

If it hurts when you press on it, that sounds like a muscle or soft tissue issue, like tension or strain.

When I say irritation, I just mean it’s being affected by stress. It’s not dangerous and doesn’t mean you’re sick or have a serious disease. Your kidney is fine.

I don’t think it’s your kidneys. It seems more like your body is just really tense.

Can I ask, does your mother currently have Hepatitis C, or did she have it in the past?

Okay. that’s why she developed kidney disease.

I promise, if you actually had untreated kidney disease, you’d be experiencing a lot of serious symptoms, which you don’t have.

Do you drink alcohol? Is your skin unusually yellow, like a Simpson?
Are you throwing up a lot, even every time you eat? Any blood in your urine?

Based on what you’re describing, it doesn’t sound like kidney disease.
