Hot and cold: Any tips for living with fluctuations of temperature?
Lately I've had episodes of being hot and sweating sometimes but not all the time now and in just a few minutes be cold. I'll be in the living room and have to turn the fan on then just in a few minutes turn it off.; it is really frustrating especially to my wife,although she doesn't say anything.

Jeffmarc does your wave 2 device work well. Im thinking about renting one to see if it works for me:; it has real good reviews
@asolidrock
I use it every day. When I had very hot, hot flashes, it was not as useful during the day, but at night it stopped my sweats that ended up with the sheet wet under me.
If you get it, make sure to contact me For information on how to configure it ideally. I did beta test the product five years ago and have worked closer with the company ever since.
Thanks very much jeffmarc will do. You must live in a hot area. I'm in south louisiana and I get hot but not enough to wet the sheets or anything. At this point anything will help.
@jeffmarc
Jeff,
The hot flashes were the least of my problems. The cold sweats were really bad as they were 24 hours/day. Most of this is now gone after 11 months since the last Lupron 3 month shot.
@asolidrock
Actually, where I live at seldom gets to even 70°. When you get those hot sweats at night, they just soak the bed sheet.

I started ADT on Eligard and it took about a month for the hot flashes to start. With Eligard you get about a 2 week hormone surge before testosterone drops, we all respond differently, but I would guess 2 or 3 weeks before the hot flashes. I moved from Eligard to Firmagon after 6 months. Hot flashes continued, a little different but no less frequent. Urologist prescribed Megace for the hot flashes and it works great.
@mj420
That two week surge was due to your doctor’s ignorance. Doctors that know what to do, give you two weeks of Biclutamide Before you start taking Eligard. That way you don’t get that testosterone flare.
I would start to wonder what other mistakes your doctor’s going to make. He doesn’t appear know what he’s doing with some advanced prostate cancer treatments. Once you have to be on ADT, you really have to give up on a urologist.
