Vibration Plate Therapy for increasing bone density
Hello all,
I’m 68 and my wife is 66. I have osteopenia and my wife has osteoporosis. I’m getting the Prolia shots and she’s taking a daily pill of some sort. We’re both taking BHRT. We’re are in the gym 3-4 days a week, cardio and weight training. My wife is also dealing with MCI. I’ve been reading about vibration plate therapy for increasing bone density. I also saw a NIH study which indicates the benefits to bone health.
Has anyone tried this or have any experience with vibration plate therapy?

Hi. I hope you didn't think I meant a Google search. I meant here on mayo connect., 😁
@queenie1pam—I'm curious if you would share what the four specific exercises are. I have a vibration plate, and I just stand on it.
Melioguide.com has some interesting writings re vibration plates and Osteoporosis

My wife and I are also doing the biodensity machine and vibration plate. May I ask how long your individual vibration plate sessions last for?
Hi, @queenie1pam, I'd like to add my welcome to @gravity3's who brings up a good question about how you track your results. Exercise and diet changes have been shown to help with the management of Osteoporosis:

Two years can be a long time to put off medication depending on your diagnosis. Have you discussed this recommendation with your provider?

Ok. Oh yes. True!
I was hoping to locate a vibration plate recommendation from someone using one who also has osteoporosis. I feel some of those that say use this or do that, what they say may be risky or too intense for the condition I or many of us have. Obviously there’s not any one thing that fixes these bone density conditions, but I also hope to make the best informed choices based on safety & helpfulness. If this makes sense?

2 Reactions@patwerthman A doctor's office who specializes in osteoporosis recommended the Ultimate Vibe by BC Vibrant Health. The BC stands for Becky Chambers. She has also written a book on WBV.
I have owned the Ultimate Vibe since September and I use it on my non-gym days. It has both low and high amplitude vibration options, but I only use it on high amplitude. You can set the frequency from 15-40 hz.
The machine with more specs:

I will never know how much difference this makes to my OP because I am changing many things at once, such as lifting heavy weights, doing drop jumps for impact, HRT, and Vitamin K.

Have you seen the discussions on the Marodyne vibration plates. I hear that they are expensive but seem to lend themselves to those with osteoporosis.

I have a MOVE Power Plate and it has improved my spine scores. I have osteoporosis. I bought the unit used and it was barely used. Power Plate brand has documentation available on line that shows even when only standing on it, it improves bone density. BC I can only obtain a dexascan every 2 years under insurance, I have to wait until 2027 to see how much more I am improved. I was on recast for 4 infusions; now on a break but after the last infusion I began to have leg pain.
