Has anyone experienced constipation while taking LDN Naltrexone, even at a low dose?

@db72 I have had terrible constipation from LDN… It has me in the hospital right now and yet the LDN I refuse to let go of because it’s so effective. I wish I knew there was an alternative.

@luisa1010 that’s awful. I’m so sorry to hear that. I have chronic constipation but not from LDN. Mine is from neuropathy. I take Milk of Magnesia every night and it works very well for me. I hope you can get it sorted out.

LDN constipated me from the first dose. First tried 1.5 mg capsule. Then started lower & worked my way up, but at 1 mg nothing passes. (Though even without LDN, I have to take something like magnesium citrate to keep things flowing.) Doctor suggested diluting tablets & taking it that way instead, but same result.

Does anyone have severe constipation? I can NEVER go on my own, without a laxative…doctors are not happy with this but I can’t go on my own… I have to keep it moving and it’s the only way…I’ve take 7 fiber pills a day… stool softeners… many things to help without a laxative…
Can someone help me.

@milrep420
I eat one banana, 1 pear, 3 oranges and 5 prunes daily.
No problem taking care of my business.
Nice and smooth. Really, there is pleasure in defecation.
Let me know in a month.

LDN acts as a prokinetic, so at the proper dose and formula, it shouldn’t cause constipation. Some causes for constipation could be that the dose is too high, your reaction to the fillers, or a different form of LDN may be helpful. Sublingual LDN bypasses the GI tract and can be made without fillers, so the risk of constipation is lower.

@kaker75 how much fluid do you drink in a day and how much activity do you do throughout the day? You need fluid in the GI system to make things move. Your large intestine (colon) is where fluid is absorbed after the small intestine has absorbed the nutrients and fluids from your oral intake.
