Vibration Plate Therapy for increasing bone density

Posted by csrb7007 @csrb7007, Sep 22, 2025

Hello all,

I’m 68 and my wife is 66. I have osteopenia and my wife has osteoporosis. I’m getting the Prolia shots and she’s taking a daily pill of some sort. We’re both taking BHRT. We’re are in the gym 3-4 days a week, cardio and weight training. My wife is also dealing with MCI. I’ve been reading about vibration plate therapy for increasing bone density. I also saw a NIH study which indicates the benefits to bone health.

Has anyone tried this or have any experience with vibration plate therapy?

I use vibration therapy for spasms at a specialized PT center. It works well for my condition and insurance pays for it. Might search studies in Google scholar or the NIH website. Insurance coverage probably depends on it being FDA approved. You should be able to call your insurance company to find out.

Put vibration into search box under main category Osteoporosis.

I just started BioDensity training sessions which includes 4 specific exercises on the BioDensity machine and then exercises on a Power Plate vibration plate. I am also doing some exercises at home. I’m hoping to improve or at least stabilize bone loss with this program. I’m told by the trainer to give this program two years. I’m very hesitant to start any prescription medications.

Welcome. What is your dexa score? How will you track any changes if you make that 2 year commitment? Has there been research done and if so, can you post the links thanks.
