@dld26 In another post you mentioned you took LDN for fibromyalgia. Curious why you mentioned finding a doctor who will prescribe it, since you were taking it at one point?
@daisy17
That was 11yrs ago. I have a different Rheumatologist now who won't prescribe it.

1 Reaction@dld26 I would see a different doctor. I got my prescription from a Dr at a Pain Clinic. But my regular family Dr also prescribes it for those with fibromyalgia. So, check to see if there is a pain clinic in your area or ask your regular doctor if they would provide it. You could also call a compounding pharmacy in your area and see if they would recommend a doctor that would prescribe it for you. Print out some of the studies that show it helps osteoporosis.
I am curious if you know why your Rheumatologist won't prescribe it? It has so many fewer side effects than so many other drugs that doctors will prescribe. Do you still have fibromyalgia?
Keep searching. Good luck to you.

2 Reactions@daisy17 Wow. I was put on this after a major emotional shock because it supposedly helps with depression and weight gain. But a new doctor asked if it was helping with that, and since it isn't, I went off it.
Because of you, I'm going back on it. I didn't realize it could help with bone remodeling.

1 Reaction@squitirogloria Thank you, but it was actually a different person on this thread who brought the topic up originally. I hadn't heard of it before, but am glad that I'm currently on it.
@daisy17
My rheumatologist said that she won't prescribe it because it's still in the research stage. and she is onboard with the biologic farce. Yea, okay. So my sweetheart of a regular Dr. referred me to a Dr. who would prescribe it for fibromyalgia. The appt is in June. In the meantime, I'm thinking to call the compounding pharmacy and get their take on things.
Thanks, and good luck to you, too.

2 Reactions@dld26 Good to hear. But how frustrating to go from doctor to doctor to get a prescription for a drug that can help you and has few side effects.
I am curious if your fibromyalgia symptoms went away altogether? My fibro symptoms have gone away, but I don't want to stop taking the LDN because I think that could be the reason for my improvement. Before, I was in terrible pain. The fibro hit me hard in 2021 after a bout with Covid. The LDN has definitely helped with my insomnia, which seemed to correlate with my other fibromyalgia symptoms.

Like you, my pain went away (for almost 5yrs), but started coming back after some major RA flare-ups. It's mostly in my upper arms and neck, so I'd like to get back on LDN and see if it does the trick.
Good luck to you, too.

1 ReactionSafe supplements—research required …. I had a bit of trial and error to get the personally correct balance…so far New Chapter bone support, tiny tabs —is well tolerated…tiny tabs allowed me to start gradually to avoid shock to my recently reconstructed gut…will be interested in future test results.

1 ReactionI am watching my food intake very closely to be able to take in 1200 mg a day. It is not difficult. We can only absorb 400 mg at a time. Calcium supplements need to be taken with food. My endocrinologist said to take calcium citrate petites which have D3 in them as well. Each pill is only 200 mg. So my goal is to eat food with calcium at each meal. and take the cc when I am not taking in enuf with each meal. It is not difficult to eat and drink calcium with each meal and during the day.
