My apologies @jps1313. You did mention the surgery was only 15 days ago at the time of your comment.
Please ignore my comments on dry kneedling. I think this can be effective as a long-term treatment for muscle tightness, but not during rehab from a knee replacement.
Why did your surgeon say that a knee replacement would help with tight hamstrings? I've had both knees replaced, primarily to relieve pain caused by osteophytes and no cartilage left in my knees. The surgery and rehab gave me that relief.
Anyway, just wondering about the comment on your hamstrings. Also, please keep in mind that a large tourniquet is placed around the thigh before and during surgery. My surgeon didn't tell me and 3 days after surgery all my quads turned black and blue. I freaked out! I didn't know they did that, apply a tourniquet, but it certainly makes sense to stem blood flow during surgery. Anyway, over time, all the bruising disappeared.
I hope you get some answers when you have your firt post-op visit.

A tourniquet is not always used and is becoming less and less common as research indicates it is not necessary and can even be harmful:

My surgeon did NOT use a tourniquet but controlled the blood with tranexamic acid. I had zero post surgery pain. My brother had a replacement around the same time but his surgeon used a tourniquet and he had substantial pain as a result during the first month or so of recovery.
