Success stories solving rib pain please!!!
Pain that does not show up on any imaging. I’m doing osteopathic manipulation, which has helped me, but I’m very scared that this is gonna be forever.
Please give me your success stories

I hadleft side rib pain that was indicative of diabetic neuropathy. Sensitive to the touch especially from clothing. I was taking GabaPentin at the time. Got switched to PreGabalin and pffft it was gone.
I would recommend checking out something called Slipping Rib Syndrome. It can be debilitating and only seen on CT if it is converted to 3D image. Check out slippingribsyndrome.org . There are also 2 very helpful Facebook groups. I finally figured it out myself, after 5 years of being told all is ok, including 2 trips to Mayo Clinic. The groups and website have a list of Drs that treat SRS. They would recommend seeing a SRS MD for a diagnosis. Hope this may be of help. Best of luck.

3 ReactionsI'm a firm believer that groups like this expose many of the pain killers that destroy your body ways other have used to control the problem. I founf over time pills and meds I took constantly my body became immuned to and no longer work. I started my rebellion against PH meds in 1981 when I was given less that 6 monthes to live. The doctor gave me five pills I had to take everyday to live according to them. I refused to take them and my primary care, cardiolgist Doctors abandon me as I wouldn't take their med. Since then I have had only one doctor I could trust to be completely honest with me, Because of what I call specialize medicine. I take mostly herbs and natural cures like they did in the old days. For me they work the best. I have two modern med Amoxicilian that I use for sinus infections and only one tablet seems to solve the problem and my immune system takes over and cures the problem. and a back up lorston prescribed by a cardiologist that I take as last resort for high Blood pressure. Most of the time I just relax, Breath deeply, eat garlic or take Hawthorne only as needed and relax and The high Blood pressure goes down. If you try herbs and other cures don't stop your meds right away until you talk with your docror and they see the improvement and they will tell you how to get away from their drugs. But this is what works for me every day.
There is another methoid of treatment that works great and that is acrupressure message. But there is about only four people left in America that does it. When my hands quit working and the pain was very strong I found one in Mich I lived in Az at the time. With in two hours I was out of pain and my hands worked again and have never stopped. Since then she has moved she told me massage therapist are all given the opertunity to learn it but that isn't where the money is.

1 ReactionSometimes, rib pain can be caused by a tight diaphragm, treatable by a good osteopath using manual manipulation….and there are osteopaths all over the US, not a lot though.

2 Reactions@crbarefoot thank you. I will definitely keep this in mind especially after my doctor denied me having it.
I’ll take a look at those groups!
Did you have rib pain all over the rib cage on your sides?

2 Reactions@nycmusic im seeing one currently. Only problem is she is only in once a month due to the fact she is a university professor who does random does in office at the schools clinic!!! But shes great so far!!!
You say its the diaphragm thats tight?
@jdbarr1 I had pain in the right anterior rib cage with intermittent radiation pain to the right side and abdomen . I also felt right sided shortness of breath. It started mildly and gradually worsened. I saw so many doctors, had every lab and scan done, and was told I was fine. After 5 horrible years of symptoms, I diagnosed myself. I had to ultimately get a pain doctor. I slept on my left side for 2 years because I could not sleep on the right, now my left is symptomatic
Please look at the groups. The symptoms of SRS are varied. Most patients have been dismissed by doctors for years, telling them “everything looks ok, it’s probably anxiety”. The symptoms of slipping rib syndrome are severe, real and have been poorly diagnosed. There are only approximately 100 doctors across the country that treat Slipping Rib. Please check out the Facebook groups and slippingribsyndrome.org. The moderators of the Facebook groups are well informed.

2 Reactions@jdbarr1 Yes, my doc says that is a key problem for me. Every session we work on getting that area to release…and works the rib area to get it moving…also, i do breathing exercises a lot, and that definitely helps. You can do them anytime anywhere. There are advanced med students at most sessions, and they take me through some resistance exercises (leg), as they believe leg strength can help the back, where much of my pain presents.
After years of pain and multiple investigations they found a stone in my bile duct. I had had my gall bladder removed years before. They washed it out and no pain since. It takes a curious dr who won’t give up on you and it’s not always bone or muscular.
