@sueinmn I’m sorry that I had not seen this until now. I continue to have my blood checked regularly. The chromium has always been in normal range until now. But the difference is that I requested the test myself and while I believe it is the same blood test that has been taken by the doctor, I keep in mind what you have said that I should make sure the testing stay consistent. My chromium came back as 3.2 this month. The odd thing is that my cobalt has been running 1.2, 1.3 and this time it came back at .9 which was surprising. I have been ordering the serum type of test (through Quest) as I saw that that’s what my doctor had used. So I used the same test from Quest; and it went down. It’s strange. I’ve had the chromium go down a tiny bit other times too; who knows why. Dare I believe or hope that my body is managing the metal? My original hip replacement was 2010 so 16 years later I realize I’m blessed to not have higher readings yet.

@hurkey You are fortunate - as are about 50% of people with metal-on-metal implants. My doctor is puzzled at why some people do well, and others begin to have problems within a few years.
