Any success stories about Evenity to share with fearful me?

Posted by callmekate @callmekate, Aug 23, 2025

After acquiring 2 compression fractures, I am biting the bullet and going for my first Evenity shot in 2 days. I am afraid of everything from heart palpitations (I have AFIB) to muscle spasms and joint pain and everything else . Has anyone been ok on the shots? Or only had minor issues? I would love to read encouraging words. My REMS scores were ok: hip -1.0, spine -1.2, but my DEXA scores were much worse: hip -2.8, spine-4.8, so I feel I have little choice now. Many thanks.

Another person here with 7 sessions of Evenity shots so far and no perceptible side effects. Once a month at the doctor's office, both arms, standard amount of post-shot soreness at the location of the shots. I say "no perceptible side effects" because I am tired all the time, but I teach full time and have two kids at home. Who isn't tired all the time? Can't lay that on the Evenity!

I have had approximately seven compression fractures and I have severe osteoporosis. I just finished my year of Evinity And my bone density results were extremely good. I had no side effects from the Evinity. I would definitely give it a try

@ricksgal did you have side effects from the Evenity?

I have pain in places where I've never had pain, and flare ups of pain in the usual places since beginning Evenity. my Dr says its the best drug and I should try to see through the year of treatment. I have had 4 already and feel awful.😣

Luckily I did not. Occasionally there was some soreness where the injections were given in my arms but if they warmed the solution up a little bit it seem to help.

I am about to get my fourth injection. Have had no side effects at all. I get them in my arms.

@janism I am 7 months in and other than feeling itchy a week after the jabs, I have been okay. I think. My hips and back ache a lot, but that could be from my August 2025 compression fractures.
At my clinic, where I get the shots in my arms, the nurse has me make a fist as the needle goes in. Honestly, this helps! Give it a try.

Can't speak to the CTX levels. Question for your doc.
I had a spontaneous thigh fracture 1 year prior to starting Evenity. My ortho doc said I really had no choice.
She was very encouraging. I met with endo doc later. Both on same page.
Risk of spine fracture not something I ever want to experience. The thigh recoup time was almost a year.
Enough was enough for me.

It is very understandable to be fearful of starting powerful drugs. I was.

@vinelli
Which drug did you end up taking? Any side effects? Are you seeing results?

Yo me coloque hace cuatro días la primera. Dolor en la zona de inyección, algún decaimiento y nada más
