I just had my 11th injection yesterday. This is what I was told by my endocrinologist and am passing it along. Make sure at least a week before your shot you are getting at least a total of 1000 milligrams of calcium with food and supplements. I take at least 500 milligrams of calcium citrate daily. (sometimes 1000 in supplements if I'm not eating/drinking enough milk products) I was told to take 2500 units of Vitamin D as well. But the amount you take depends on the blood panel you should have no more than 3 weeks out from your injection. (In the past I was on 5000 units of Vitamin D.) The most common side effect of Prolia is getting a UTI ( 1 in 33 patients) so make sure you drink a lot of water for 24 hours afterward. I have been on this medicine for 5 and 1/2 years and never had a problem until the health care conglomerate mandated switching to a biosimilar, JUBBONTI. That was a nightmare for me. I got a variance to continue with Prolia in the future and, like I said, I've never had a problem with side effects from Prolia. Good luck.
