@carolreid thank you! I am a planner, probably to a fault. However, I don’t like to be unprepared and this definitely needs preparation, at least in my mind. We live in a tri-level home in the woods with 2 dogs. I am wondering should we consider selling our home, go to a 1 story in town so my husband doesn’t have so much to deal with. If we decide to do that, I need to start preparing for that because we have lived here for 32 years, there’s a lot of “stuff” to go through while I can still “think it through”.

And you are thinking of all this while being the one with the cognitive decline! Kudos. My husband is the one. He doesn't know that he has a problem and can't see that things could go downhill fast. If something happened to me it would be a mess. Who would take care of him? And we've lived in our house for 42 years so I hear you about the stuff problem. On the plus side, it's a one story house and the size we are comfortable with. I am resistant to moving into an expensive small apartment in a facility away from my friends before we absolutely have to.
