I’ve slowly gotten myself down to 100 mgs of Gabapentin 2 times a week and by next week will be done. It’s been a very long process. I’ve been dealing with I believe is neuropathic scalp itching for several years since trying to get off Gabapentin. It’s very painful and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I think we have to remember that medications affect different people in different ways. I myself can't take CIPRO an antibiotic, but thousands of people take it every day without a problem. I take Gabapentin every day for Functional (Neurological) Movement Disorder with very little problem (Occasional brain fog) so for me it's beneficial to take it.

I started taking one Gabapentin 300mg at bedtime for internal vibrations over a year ago. These vibrations have no visible sign and escalate with high emotions…they came out of nowhere. The Gabapentin keeps the issue under control with some breakthrough moments. My neurologist said it was safe to take at this level for the rest of my life (I’m a very active 68yo). I haven’t experienced any adverse reactions and it helps me sleep at night.

@merrychristmas It is like many drugs. I wish there was an alternative to it with fewer side effects. It may of contributed to my recent hospitalization, but doctors say there is nothing else I can take for pain.

Yes, Gabapentin like other seizure medications have many POTENTIAL side effects.
I believe when some people read the possibility of paticular side effects they may be actual side effects or may be psychologically induced.
Take care,
Jake

@jakedduck1 I only know that after taking Gabapentin for years, the hospital suggested I evaluate use after hyponatremia. But there doesn’t seem to be much else for fibromyalgia.

@cdammen
I had a friend with fibromyalgia, and she swears by Lyrica. Have you ever tried that? It never helped my seizures or my neuropathy but some people feel it's better than gabapentin.
Take care,
Jake
