@jeraldrondo430 I’m sitting here debating when I should go shopping because the neuropathy is now worse than the pain. I’ll do my usual 4 hour gabapentin and Norco, tak a shower and go out before it all returns. It is getting closer to every 3 hours. I just want my enjoyable life back. You are right about finding a cure. There’s got to be more than taking a pill . I hear so much good about the Mayo Clinic. Have you ever been there?
@linda6101
I took my husband to the Mayo in Jacksonville, Florida and he got to live 5 extra years due to his care.
I would recommend the Mayo in any state.
Over 10 million of us looking for answers, over 100 different neuropathies, and affecting everyone differently!!!
Like looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack, but I keep a positive mind that they will hopefully find something before this does this 82 year old Vietnam Veteran who is so allergic to pain meds!!! I have 19 different doctors and we are all looking for answers. Hang in there maybe 2026 will be the BIG year!!! Semper Fi.
@moonshinecat6: All of us have looked, been advised, tried every cream & lotion, made others millionaires by buying everything in the marketplace that touts a Neuropathy Cure, seen many gurus with “the answer” to our painful condition, bought many exercise machine or procedure that insures relief; however, we will hope to our dying day that “something” will deliver us from the incessant pain, and weakness that drives us to inability to function or move as we once did.
To answer your question… well if we are taking a census I vote “NO”.
Welcome @meerah, You mentioned you though alpha lipoic acid was helpful and you were planning to get some for your mom. I thought you might also want to scan through the many discussions here on Connect for "neuropathy what helps". Here's a search link that lists the different discussions - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/
Are your neuropathy symptoms the same as your mom's symptoms?
Well, I plan to have hope there is something to stop the progression or even reverse it. I don't have much pain right now, but have had burning feet for about 20 years. I am tackling this with -daily walks
- a wholeFoods Plant Based lifestyle (eliminating added sugars and added oils)
-Alpha lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine, antioxidants. Just starting ALC (acetyl l Carnitine) too.
-daily stretches of major nerves and muscles
- 15 minutes of breathing mindfulness
- doing only nose breathing to optimize the production of nitric oxide.
I believe we always have to have some hope.

Yes! I've been getting 1-hr treatments every other week since last summer.
Medicare doesn't generally cover the cost though. If you haven't had acupuncture before please be patient. It doesn't cure you overnight and it doesn't work for everyone. Chinese medicine has been around for a long time. It works for me.

@moonshinecat6 Unfortunately there isn't a cure, all they can do is try to treat our pain.
I was just diagnosed with Neuropathy a few weeks ago. I was wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture to ease the tingling/pain in the feet.
@dbamos1945 i thought alpha lipoic was helpful.i am here for my mom and I intend buying it for her

Did your doctor or neurologist suggest any treatments?
