Hi I'm new here and I have a very salty mouse / saliva all the time. Doctors don't know why. I have ruled out the obvious symptoms. My vitamin level is fine. I'm just very tired and have the salty taste in my mouth constantly. Anyone with this problem?

@synthiame , sorry you have it. You can see upthread all those others who are experiencing this. Mine developed to salty from metallic then bitter to salty. Mine is much improved though. Fingers crossed for more improvement.

The cause for most of us is illusive, though we have varying theories. Doctors can’t say.

@synthiame Yes several of us have been experiencing this salty taste and also some of us have a bitter/sour taste too. We have been posting about all our doctor and dentist visits that have not really provided any answers. First I was told to just drink more which did nothing and neither did any of the treatments for dry mouth. My rheumatologist is the only one who said it could be neurological and I had conversation with AI that gave me more information than anyone. It definitely seems to be a neurological issue and I am going to take this information with me to a neurologist whom I am seeing for the first time next week. I am taking Cymbalta (the generic) now that my primary care let me start and it has almost eliminated the salty taste but not the bitter/sour taste which I still have. Even that is a little less intense. It is probably similar to tinnitus where the sound is not really there but we hear it. With the taste, the taste isn't really there but our brain thinks it is so we need to do things to calm our brain down with some medication and also with some training to ignore it....
